Celebrating 40 Years of Service

In 1967, ten meals were delivered on September 21st to frail seniors in Mount Dennis and Weston. This was the beginning of Humber Community Seniors' Services Inc.

Over the last 40 years, the range and scope of the services we provide in the community has changed and grown significantly. For instance, we now deliver over 25,000 meals annually, provide over 16,000 rides to doctors' appointments and 208 dedicated volunteers donated 19,135 hours of their time during the last fiscal year.

Annual General Meeting 2007

On Thursday, October 18, we held our Annual General Meeting and Open House in celebration of our 40 years of service in the community. On such a festive occasion, clients, volunteers, and representatives of numerous community organizations joined us as new Board volunteers were elected. We also took this opportunity to recognize our volunteers for their invaluable contribution in our various programs. Councillor Frances Nunziata, also a Board member, and TDSB Trustee Chris Tonks, representing Mr. Alan Tonks, MP for York-South Weston, presented special certificates of recognition to Rita Irving and Belle Smith for 40 wonderful years of volunteer work with our agency.
