Humber Community Seniors' Services Inc. provides the following services: Humber Community Seniors' Services Inc.'s Meals on Wheels Program is a volunteer-driven, special community service that delivers hot, nutritious meals five days a week (and frozen meals to supplement weekends) to our many fellow citizens who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. When requested, therapeutic diets are also available if accompanied by a doctor's certificate. Frozen meals are usually available with choice of menu. Meals on Wheels...enhancing quality of life in the community, every day! This service has a fee. Our caring staff and volunteers provide a stimulating and supportive envrionment to persons living in the community who are unable to function independently. Transportation can be arranged. This program is offered in partnership with Etobicoke Services for Seniors. This service has a fee. Our drivers and six-passenger vans are available to take our clients grocery shopping and to medical appointments, with destinations both in and out of the area. Social transportation to shopping malls, hairdresser appointments and other non-medical trips is also available. Please contact us for more information. This service has a fee. Friendly telephone calls are made by volunteers, as security checks or just to say "hello." The clients and volunteers mutually agree upon time and frequency of the calls. This service is free of charge. Outings are planned once a month to local points of interest. Bus transportation is included. This service has a fee. See our Events Calendar for upcoming outings Caring staff is available on a scheduled basis to assist with light house cleaning such as laundry, vacuuming, dishwashing, dusting, dishes and cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms. This service has a fee. Our Home Maintenance staff is available for lawn cutting, hedge trimming, cleaning eavestroughs and windows, and for minor home repairs. Service is available on a "first-come-first-served" basis with the exception of lawn cutting, which is scheduled on a rotation basis. This service has a fee.
